CK Group are recruiting for a CNC Programmer/Operator to join a global medical technology company in the pharmaceutical industry at their site based in Leamington Spa on a contract basis for 6 months.

This role is located in Leamington Spa and easily commutable from Coventry, Rugby, Birmingham and Oxford. Their site is based a short distance from the A46 and is easily accessible for commuters using the M40 or railway.

The role: Responsible for ensuring all plant production activities have full engineering support to include: PRD (prototype), implementation of products to the manufacturing process and effectively maintain all current production related processes to a validated state and also any general day to day engineering as required. You will be responsible for:

CNC programming, setting and operation - you will be able to set and prove out new products through to first article approval. Operation of Daewoo Puma-Multi axis mill /turn type lathe (but similar will be considered, twin spindles and B axis with live tooling, Fanuc controlled).


You will have first-hand experience of lean manufacturing. You will be able to set, operate and programme 4/5 Axis CNC Turning Centre and critically assess the suitability of cutting tool design and simple jigs and fixtures for their intended application. Knowledge of machining spherical components and controlling tool and gauge design an advantage. Detailed working knowledge of CNC machines (Doosan Lynx / MX range preferred) and any other general manufacturing or production type equipment, such as lapping/polishing. You will understand the principles of metrology and be capable of using standard equipment i.e. Micrometer, Vernier, etc. CMM. Knowledge of UG CAD/CAM packages and Lapping/Polishing would be advantageous. Licenses/Certifications: C&G time served or HND in an Engineering type discipline. Good proven hands on engineering experience with a strong analytical/problem solving, hands on approach; previous working experience within CNC environments is required. You will have an understanding of TPM & 5’s, CNC machines, Cam programming systems, ISO Clean room equipment, good computer & communication skills.

Hours of work:

6am to 13:45 - Mon to Thurs & Friday: 6am - 12:30 13.30 to 21:30 - Mon to Thurs & Friday 12.15 to 17:45 * 30 minute unpaid lunch & 2 x 10 minute breaks) Overtime: Potential - Paid 1.3 Monday to Friday - Saturday 1.5 - Sunday 2.00 (In the first 2 months of assignment overtime cannot be guaranteed).
