Manufacturing Process Innovation Engineer - Duxford
Alex Tosney is recruiting for a Manufacturing Process Innovation Engineer to join a leading composites and specialist materials manufacturer at their site based in Duxford on a permanent basis.
Our client has grown over the last 70+ years to be one of the front runners within specialist material innovation for the aviation, defence and space sectors. The company are built on a culture of collaboration and science lead innovation to overcome material challenges for their clients.
The role is based at our client's site in Duxford which is located a short distance from Cambridge. This role is easily commutable by car as it is located a short distance from a motorway junction.
The Role: This role is focused on working with the development laboratories to take novel materials or processes through continuous improvement to manufacturing capability.
The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:
- Design and build concepts into prototypes and pilot equipment
- Develop and implement novel manufacturing technologies from design stage, through specification and to installation and commissioning
- Introduce new (and develop existing) technology in order to deliver a process to reduce costs, improve quality or reduce process time
- Ensure new materials, product or process developments are introduced into routine production with a robust and capable process
Your Background:To succeed in this role, you will have a background within process or manufacturing engineering with a relevant degree in a related discipline. For this position experience designing experiments and building trial equipment is essential.
