George Truman is recruiting for a Mobile Service Engineer to join a company in the Energy industry to work in the Heathrow/Wembley area on a full time, permanent basis.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mobile Service Engineer to join the friendly team, covering the Heathrow and Wembley area. The Service Engineers are in place to carry out routine service, maintenance, fault finding, repair, (electrical & mechanical) on a wide range of CHP engines, generating sets and associated equipment, ensuring that all assets within their control are correctly maintained and repaired, maximising plant availability and optimising efficiency of operation.

The Role:

  • You will carry out, with high levels of attention to detail and professionalism, all service, maintenance and repair work on customer sites in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations and/or company service instructions.
  • Ensure units are kept in a clean and safe condition.
  • You will be expected to maintain van stock levels and order parts as required to carry out your duties.
  • You should be able to attend and respond to out of hours calls, staying behind at short-notice and carrying out tasks beyond your normal range of duties.
  • The role requires you to be conversant with, and work in accordance with, all relevant Health & Safety legislation and industry best practices.
  • You must be able to undertake the role with the minimum of supervision, whilst maintaining a flexible approach, focusing on the needs of customers, both internal and external.
  • Effectively follow the quality processes and procedures put in place, including pro-actively identifying areas for improvement.
  • You will be expected to maintain van stock levels and order parts as required to carry out your duties.

Your Background:

  • Must have experience within a similar role, with a flexible approach to work being required.
  • An understanding and knowledge of information technology and its applications (specifically Programmable Logic Controllers, use of laptop computers, mobile devices) is considered essential.
  • Must be qualified to minimum O.N.C., or have appropriate experience in a mechanical engineering subject.
  • Engine rebuild experience is a definite advantage.
