Chemical Engineer Vacancy Market – 11/06/2014

Each week CK Engineers will be trying to give you a picture of the state of one of the disciplines we work with, the Chemical Engineers jobs market.  Whether you are a Chemical Engineer looking for a new role or an employer seeking new Chemical Engineers to join your team, keeping up to date with industry news that impacts you is essential.

This week’s summary is for week commencing 11th August 2014 for the past week and relates to Chemical Engineer vacancies posted on:

  • CV Library
  • Monster
  • Reed
  • The Engineer
  • Just Engineers
  • LinkedIn.

Our results showed that from these job boards a total of just 79 Chemical Engineer jobs were published in the last week. However looking into the separate numbers, permanent mirrored the overall drop with a 29% drop, losing 26 vacancies on last week. But when looking at contract roles, there was a rise by 33% (4 vacancies), which despite talking lower numbers is a swing away from the pattern previously seen.

Can we look too much into this? Probably not at this stage with the summer holiday period in full swing and this just being 1 week at present. However we will watch this space with interest.
